Every child learns differently. There are several different types of learning styles. Here is a list of three of the most common...
*VISUAL (seeing)
*AUDITORY (hearing)
*TACTILE/KINESTHETIC (touching/doing)
Would you like to know more about the different learning styles?
It's important to help your child determine his/her own personal learning style(s). This may also help when experiencing difficulty in school. For example, if "Suzie" works with multiplication flashcards every night and still fails all of her multiplication quizzes, it might be because she's not a visual learner. Maybe she's an auditory learner. If this were the case, maybe a multiplication rock CD would do the trick.
There are several different learning style inventories/quizzes on the internet that claim to help you determine your child's learning style. I'm not sure of their validity, but if you're interested, here is the link to one such survey.
